Can I Have Car Insurance From California in Maryland?

by California Car Insurance on May 22, 2011

I spoke to a representative of the car insurance from California and she said that it was fine. And that she had many clients from all over the nation. Does anyone know more about this? Thanks!

If your car is registered in California, your insurance should work in Maryland.

But if you live in Maryland–legal address–you’ll need a Maryland insurance ID card; California’s won’t cut it.

Yes, most of them are Nationwide. They are set up with agents from all over the place and when you get quoted they’ll find you a local agent next to you based on your zip code, these do it with all major insurers
