A Question About Car Insurance in California?

by California Car Insurance on June 13, 2011

The other day I recieved a letter in the mail that said I need to go get my car insured or it could be suspended. I want to get the cheapest insurance possible (state minimum). What company has the cheapest insurance and how much can I expect to pay per month?

In my opinion, Mercury is cheapest and they always come through when I’ve needed them.
I hope this helps…

State minimums in CA is $15K/$30K/$5K. (that’s liability coverage only – $15K per person, $30K per accident, $5K for property damage – this is max per accident). Most likely depending on the car you have, it will not be pricy. You can always insure with a “high risk” carrier, usually they insure people who want only state minimums and have not been continuously insured – Try brystol west or even an independent broker – like eastwood insurance – type these in online and u should get a web address. Should be no more than a few hundred per year. If you only get state minimums.
